Dolls

He'd been told dolls were for girls

Welcome to Wednesday’s flash fiction wherein I write, as part of a group, a flash fiction based on the same short prompt and post the story. I hope you enjoy this week’s contribution.

Cool air rushed out as the door whooshed open at Edan’s approach. The M-13X was laid out on the table, diagnostic cables dangling. He perched on a stool. “What happened here?” he asked into the silence.

Digging into the read, Edan grinned. This wasn’t the normal owner stupidity. This owner had setup the doll right. So why wasn’t the doll working?

Just the type of challenge he loved playing with. Swiveling away, he reached for his tool bag.

“I wouldn’t do that.” A voice said behind him. Jumping he turned to see the doll sitting up, her glassy eyes glowing.

Don’t forget to read the other’s takes on the prompt. More stories go up throughout the day. Be sure to check our page on Facebook for updates as everything becomes available: WonHundred Words.
