The wind kept the mourners’ words at bay. Vanora need not hear it though as Glenis’ coffin wound slowly closer. There had been many theories about how she had been murdered. None of that mattered. For now, Vanora watched her sister’s last approach.
Drew’s joined Vanora silently. She turned her head slightly in recognition.
“My Lady,” he said.
“She was your lady.” Vanora clasped her hands forcing the tears back.
He mirrored her stance. “What was is past. What is demands notice.”
Vanora frowned considering the gathering again. “Wiser words than theirs. They ask not why she died, only how.”
