Welcome to Wednesday’s flash fiction wherein I write as part of a group based on the same short prompt and post them. Here’s my contribution.
“She’s been missing since Friday and he’s not worried.” Her voice carried to the loft where Jax lay and the hushed conversation didn’t end there. Or get less insulting.
Apparently her parents had forgotten that darkness didn’t mean sleeping. Or that whispers weren’t quiet to mage hearing. The accusation might as well have been shouted.
Rolling over, Jax grunted loudly. Even they couldn’t miss the noise. The conversation fell completely silent. At last.
What’d they expected by sending word that their daughter was a Potential. The trials were normal. Even Jax had been through it. Yeah, so much for sleep.
Don’t forget to read the other’s takes on the prompt. More stories go up throughout the day. Be sure to check our page on Facebook for updates as everything becomes available: WonHundred Words.
