The accident wasn't her fault

What is WonHundred Word Wednesdays? It’s when a group of amazing authors and I write 100 word stories all based on the same short prompt and post them. All the variations are fun to read. Here is my entry for the week.

It wasn’t the dreamt of festival. Eleni hadn’t meant it to end this way. The food ruined. The stalls fallen or too wobbly to risk.

The accident wasn’t her fault. That wouldn’t stop the biddies whispering. They were at it already, this time twisting Jerrick’s ear. She needn’t hear the words to know them bad. His face matched beets.

He slashed his hand dismissively, cutting off the conversation and stalked to the inn’s door.

“Father?” she asked. He shook his head steering her inside. If only she saw a path out of this mess that wouldn’t end in further disaster.

Now see the rest.
