What is WonHundred Word Wednesdays? It’s when a group of amazing authors and I write 100 word stories all based on the same short prompt and post them. All the variations are fun to read. Here is my entry for the week.
The trees rippled around them. Her spell was ending.
“I can’t leave,” she sobbed grasping Locke. He was solid, untouched for the moment. “Let me stay.”
His pain etched face disappeared to kissed her forehead. “I can’t grant that,” he whispered. She’d forgotten his voice. She’d forget again.
Tears, her constant companion, flowed unbidden. “But one night costs so much.”
“Stop paying. Live, for me. Please.” His voice echoed hollowly as the dream faded, she chased it, forlorn.
“No!” she screamed waking in her room. “No.” The dreams details slipped away claiming the spells price, another sliver of her heart.
