Betrayal

Find some proof that she's betrayed you

Welcome to Wednesday’s flash fiction wherein I write as part of a group based on the same short prompt and post them. Here’s my contribution.

Footsteps. Ian sprang from the ground moving further away from the door into the shadows. An eternity, probably minutes, later the lock clicked open.

Avril materialized in the doorway, as usual. “You wanted to speak with me?”

“I don’t belong here.” He moved from the shadows. “You know she did this. Don’t placate me.” Ian said.

Avril sighed and shook her head. “Find proof of her betrayal.”

“How?” Ian gestured to his cell. Proof wasn’t going to appear in the mortor.

“You were always my resourceful most student.” Avril disappeared as abruptly as she’d arrived. The door clicked locked again.

Don’t forget to read the other’s takes on the prompt. More stories go up throughout the day. Be sure to check our page on Facebook for updates as everything becomes available: WonHundred Words.
