Caverns of Disbelief

Even if you prove me wrong, I’ll never agree with you

Welcome to Wednesday’s flash fiction wherein I write as part of a group based on the same short prompt and post them. Here’s my contribution.

Dripping water kept the time as we sat across from each other. I could’ve run a pull down her back. “Relax,” I said breaking the quiet. “You’re making me nervous.”

She scowled, inching toward the cave entrance. “We shouldn’t be here. It nests here.”

I rolled my eyes leaning back against the stone wall. It was pleasantly warm. Surprisingly. “You won’t scare me with your myths.”

“It’s not a myth. The creatures…”

I raised my hand cutting off her flow before it began. “Even if you prove me wrong, I’ll never agree with you.” Dragons were pure myth. Weren’t they?

Don’t forget to read the other’s takes on the prompt. More stories go up throughout the day. Be sure to check our page on Facebook for updates as everything becomes available: WonHundred Words.
