Welcome to Wednesday’s flash fiction wherein I write as part of a group based on the same short prompt and post them. Here’s my contribution.
My arms scrapped across the ground as an arrow twanging above me. I shoved myself back up, stumbling into a run. “You’ve been chasing for two weeks already. Let it go!”
Their trilling cries was my response. Little things seemed to matter an awful lot to them. The cliff wasn’t far though. Already the trees parted and the land dropped away. Not slowing, I flung myself over the edge.
Hitting the water, I fought to regain the surface. A hand drug me out and onto a boat. “Got it, Margo?” Flint asked.
“Of course.” I grinned, raising the dripping pouch.
Don’t forget to read the other’s takes on the prompt. More stories go up throughout the day. Be sure to check our page on Facebook for updates as everything becomes available: WonHundred Words.
