Author Jenna Eatough's Flash Fiction Story from writing prompt: Others could make her happier

Wednesday has come around again, and I’m happy to present this week’s flash fiction.

Others could make her happier.

Absurd. Preposterous. Other condemnations chased through Marren’s mind. Derven had been with her through too much.

He’d failed.

Marren didn’t begin to form a response to that thought before another rebuttal struck and another. Each an accusation against Derven. Each raised her ire.

Derven opened the portal to Tierfall.

That accusation stopped Marren’s mind racing. He hadn’t. In fact, he’d helped her seal them a decade ago.

The thought was followed by another she could not see.

Trapped. Again. Sliding between realities.

Marren would have screamed if her body would respond. Not again. What now?
