Sword Warden Past

She wasn't about to break up the happy home

What is WonHundred Word Wednesdays? It’s when a group of amazing authors and I write 100 word stories all based on the same short prompt and post them. All the variations are fun to read.

Mele tensed as Yill grabbed her arm. “Mele, why did you come?” he demanded. Four year ago he would’ve known better than to restrain her. She forced herself not to grab her knife.

Turning she opened she wanted to answer him. He was still Yill, her swordmate. Yet, he wasn’t.

Beyond him where his daughter and wife large with child. Yill was soft now, vulnerable. She couldn’t shatter that to bid the sword warden return.

She forced a smile. “That is why I came.” Yanking her arm free, Mele turned away. She wasn’t about to break up the happy home.

Don’t forget to read the other’s takes on the prompt. More stories go up throughout the day. Be sure to check our page on Facebook for updates as everything becomes available: WonHundred Words.
