What is WonHundred Word Wednesdays? It’s when a group of amazing authors and I write 100 word stories all based on the same short prompt and post them. All the variations are fun to read. Here is my entry for the week.
I clasped my amulet as Captain Boden approached. Please divine, let the news be good.
“My queen.” His paused, hesitation mocking my plea. “The village was empty. Grime covered everything.”
Releasing my grip, I looked at the amulet’s imprint. Rhys had the other and their joint power was needed. The night rose again.
“They didn’t find Rhys, but they found his diary under his bed.”
Trembling I leaned against the throne. “Intact?”
“Intact, my queen.” Boden nodded offering the record.
Taking the distressed book gingerly, I noted the new damage and words. Bless Rhys’ obsessive chronicling. There was hope yet.
Don’t forget to read the other’s takes on the prompt. Theirs go up throughout the day.
